Dance Dance Dance

from the 12” single, P & P Records, 1977

It feels good to dance, the muscles, the movement, the release of endorphins; how a single solitary brain can not only tolerate, but control, all these things at once is a magical thing to me, that moment when your body locks into the groove and the sound waves largely take control of your journey, the impact never fades. Frankly, I have found that just dancing around to your favorite music for even a song or two is often enough to snap one out of an aimless or lackadaisical mood. I love dancing in crowds as well, from 100 people at a small lounge to 10,000+ at massive raves back in the day, everyone getting down to it and just letting it all hang out…man, it feels so good. Unfortunately, a lot of folks are exceedingly concerned about what others might think of their moves, thus they largely deny themselves this incredible (not to mention FREE) human luxury. Singer Marta Acuna has the right idea, “…don’t sit down, get up and dance, get on your feet … dance dance dance, maybe you’ll find romance…” Yet another seamless Patrick Adams joint here, firing on all my pleasure cannons: sexy & sedated vocals, mid-tempo pace, chunky percussion, rubbery bassline, minimal but dank breaks, and around 4:45, when a guitar leads the charge headlong back into the climactic groove after enjoying an extended bridge, damn…
