Serious potheads have always bolstered their reputations by having an encyclopedic knowledge about the preeminent types of weed & hash, and although the glut of new strains that the post-‘90s breeding craze has spurred can be overwhelming at times, it’s really nothing new; this tale of getting busted on the road name drops no less than 5 different types of smoke popular in the 1970s: Chicago Green, Black Lebanese, Black Nepalese, Newcastle Brown, and finally, Durban Poison, which is actually still very alive & kicking in a dispensary (or snob dealer) near you. This was the first album that Humble Pie released after the departure of co-founder Peter Frampton, and frankly, they rock so hard here you barely notice that he’s gone; to be fair, considering what came next, Frampton obviously didn’t need them much either. And now, I’m off to smoke a bowl…of what you ask: a bed of Blueberry topped off with some “caviar”, Purple Kush soaked in 30+% THC hash oil. Yes, maybe you want to move here…
