There are certain songs, in any genre of music, that will eternally demand they be played loud, songs which never outgrow the appeal of thunderous volume & thus require the participation of us, the listeners, it their pursuit of splitting ears; this is one of those songs. You can’t turn this one down, ever. I had no inclination that yours truly would ever wind up living in the town that Bone-Thugs hail from (Cleveland), still inhabiting South Florida at the time this single dropped, and this so-called “fast rapping” style they came with was so electrifying at that time; mind you, it was perfectly normal and common to see kids all over Florida back then with Misfits tee shirts on, listening to hip-hop in their cars, with Dead stickers on the trunks---you had to be up on all your shit. This hasn’t been the case anywhere else I’ve lived in the USA however, where it seems like if you are white and into hip-hop you must either be a wigger, or solely into rap music (for that matter, it seems like in most places you are required to only focus on one genre of tunes); you should see some of the puzzled looks I get on the ever rarer occasions when I’m out rolling loud in my car, hippie pony-tail and grizzly beard swaying carefree to the phat beats, “…is that boy confused or something?” Nope, not at all, I just know how to have a good time, HOLLA!!
