If Bob Marley himself deemed you to be one of the coolest reggae musicians out there, I personally can’t think of much else one would need to accomplish in this life; seriously, that’s props money can’t buy! This was exactly the case for one Dennis Brown, a reggae superstar by his 18th birthday, and one of the most dearly loved singers in Jamaica’s long tradition of heroes. Recorded during a very tumultuous time in that island’s history, Brown beseeches his brothers and sisters to mellow out, “…stop the fussing and fighting brothers…it’s time to unite, said it’s time to live up right…I beg you, walk with Jah within your heart, yea, walk with Jah within your thoughts…” The slow tempo is intoxicating, and those lazy bursts of organ make this number dreader than dread!!
