Chalk one up for the nerdy white guys!! Seriously, this track brings the funk so hard, so right, so creamy---knowing that this duo (Ben Goldwasser & Andrew Van Wyngarden) are recent graduates of Wesleyan University makes this kind of accomplishment all the more amazing. One part Daft Punk, three parts Prince, and a healthy dash of Beck---this song continues to flourish in my playlist month after month, I simply cannot get enough! Who cares if these guys are the soundtrack for all those annoying vapid hipsters, sometimes even they can get it right (although, admittedly, not very often). Go ahead, don’t be ashamed, just sing along, “…I said ooh girl, shock me like an electric eel; baby girl, turn me on with your electric feel…”
